What I want most is to raise the stakes with my writing. Raising the stakes is not merely increasing the word count or even penning the great American novel. Rather, raising the stakes is an attempt to elevate my own unique style of storytelling. Fiction that crosses the boundaries of either popular and literature, resulting in a blend that is enjoyable to read with something to say is the kind of writing I aspire to achieve.
